The ROBBJACK TS-301-16 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding shop environments. Part of the TS-301 Series in the Tuffy material grade, this end mill features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length on a straight cylindrical 0.5 inch shank. Three spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The centercutting geometry allows both plunge and conventional milling operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match standard CNC and manual milling setups. This tool ships uncoated and is suited for machinists running ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a reliable stub-length geometry is needed.
The TS-301-16 fits typical stub-length end mill applications in production and job-shop environments. Its 0.5 inch shank seats directly into standard ER collets, end mill holders, and side-lock holders used on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers. The short length of cut and compact overall length provide rigidity in slotting, peripheral milling, and light pocketing operations. No extended reach is present, keeping deflection low during aggressive passes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling selection for vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills accepting a 0.5 inch straight cylindrical shank in ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or Weldon-style side-lock holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and torque. Always power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended gauge-line depth in the holder to minimize runout and prevent pull-out during cutting. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for damage before each use.
