The ROBBJACK T12-405-06 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Measuring 3/16 inch in diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work where rigidity and edge retention matter. It features four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a straight cylindrical shank of 3/8 inch diameter. The Tuffy material grade carbide substrate provides wear resistance for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installation and use are handled by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in both manual and CNC milling machines. Its centercutting design allows it to plunge directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole, making it versatile for pocketing operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The regular length designation keeps deflection low during interrupted cuts and finish passes on steel, aluminum, and similar materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling option for standard 3/8 inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills requiring a 3/16 inch square end mill.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system per the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a production run. Uncoated carbide tools should be matched to appropriate feeds, speeds, and cutting fluids for the specific workpiece material to avoid premature edge wear.
