The ROBBJACK T12-403-04 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built to T12-403 series specs, it features a 0.125 inch cutting diameter, a 0.250 inch length of cut, and a 0.375 inch straight cylindrical shank. With 4 spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean edge finishes. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry in addition to peripheral milling. Rated under the Tuffy material grade designation, this tool is suited for moderate to aggressive cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
This end mill fits stub-length applications where rigidity is preferred over reach. The 2.5 inch overall length and short 0.250 inch length of cut minimize deflection during tight-tolerance work. It is commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for slotting, profiling, and plunge-cutting operations on a variety of workpiece materials. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional machine tools. No chipbreaker and no variable helix keep the geometry consistent and predictable for finish milling passes.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill in the ROBBJACK T12-403 series, compatible with standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, ER collet systems, and set-screw tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Torque the collet nut or set screw to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling.
