The ROBBJACK SS-2-047-BN is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in demanding material applications. With a 0.047-inch (3/64-inch) mill diameter and a 0.0705-inch length of cut, this stub-length tool is built for tight-tolerance work where rigidity and accuracy are critical. The 2-flute, right-hand helical geometry at a 30-degree helix angle supports both roughing and finishing operations. The uncoated bright finish makes it suitable for a wide range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working on small, intricate features will find this tool well-suited to high-precision setups.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where miniature tooling is required. It performs across a broad material range including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The stub-length design minimizes overhang and deflection, making it a practical choice for close-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring on small workpieces or in confined spaces. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical shank sized at 1/8 inch for standard collet or chuck mounting.
Part of the ROBBJACK SS-2-BN series miniature ball end mill line. Suitable for use in standard 1/8-inch collets or chucks on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the 1/8-inch straight shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or tool holder before operation. Miniature end mills are sensitive to runout; verify tool holder concentricity before cutting. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the target workpiece material.
