The ROBBJACK SS-2-025 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of tight-tolerance features in small-part and micro-machining applications. With a 0.025-inch cutting diameter and a 0.0375-inch length of cut, this stub-length tool is built for rigidity and minimal deflection in fine detail work. The 2-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix provides efficient chip evacuation at the high spindle speeds these small diameters require. It is uncoated and runs in right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration. Machinists and CNC operators working in production or toolroom environments will find this tool appropriate for milling slots, pockets, and profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is suited for use on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles where micro-diameter tooling is needed. Stub-length construction keeps overhang short, which is critical at this diameter to avoid tool breakage during full-depth passes. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.125 inches in diameter, compatible with standard 1/8-inch collets. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry in addition to peripheral milling, expanding its range of operations in a single setup.
Designed as a standard 1/8-inch straight shank end mill compatible with 1/8-inch precision collets on CNC machining centers and high-speed milling spindles. Part of the ROBBJACK SS-2 series of square end mills.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. At 0.025 inches in diameter, this tool is extremely fragile - avoid side loading during tool changes and confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Feed rates and speeds must be calculated for micro-diameter carbide tooling to prevent immediate tool failure.
