The ROBBJACK SR-2-037 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries. It features a 0.037-inch cutting diameter, a 0.111-inch length of cut, and a 1/8-inch shank diameter, making it well-suited for fine detail work in metal, composite, and plastic materials. The two-flute spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting at high feed rates. At 1.5 inches overall length, this is a compact, rigid tool built for accuracy in close-tolerance applications. It is uncoated and ships as a single-end tool. Machinists and CNC operators in precision machining, tool and die, mold making, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for slotting, profiling, and plunge-capable operations on small features where a standard-diameter tool will not fit. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC milling spindles. It is most commonly used in vertical machining centers and CNC mills running small-diameter toolpaths for detailed workpiece features, miniature components, or precision cavities in production and prototype environments.
Designed as an OEM-style precision cutting tool for use in CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter collet or tool holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, verifying runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut. At this diameter, tool deflection and breakage risk increase significantly with excessive feed rates or improper workholding - confirm speeds and feeds match the material and tool specifications before running.
