The ROBBJACK SR-2-027 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision micro-milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.027-inch cutting diameter and a 0.081-inch length of cut, this tool is engineered for fine-detail work in tight geometries where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute design promote smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch shank, it fits standard collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The uncoated Tuffy-grade carbide substrate is suited for demanding materials where edge sharpness and wear resistance are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC operators will find this tool appropriate for production and prototype work alike.
This end mill is built for applications requiring micro-scale material removal, including mold cavities, printed circuit board fixtures, aerospace components, and precision instrument parts. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The SR-2 series targets jobs where small-diameter tooling must maintain tight tolerances over repeated use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production tool for applications requiring a 1/8-inch shank, 0.027-inch diameter square end mill in the SR-2 series regular-length configuration.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as micro-diameter tooling is especially sensitive to spindle and holder concentricity. Follow your machine tool manufacturer's recommended feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut guidelines for carbide end mills at this diameter.
