The ROBBJACK SB-301-05 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for both roughing and finishing operations in a compact stub-length configuration. With a 0.1563-inch (5/32 inch) mill diameter and a 0.25-inch length of cut, this three-flute tool delivers precise material removal in tight workspaces. The 30-degree medium helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. A bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating is undesirable or unnecessary. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments will find this tool well-suited to high-accuracy profiling and contouring tasks.
This ball end mill is built for machining cast iron and non-ferrous metals, making it a practical choice for applications such as mold and die work, part contouring, and cavity profiling on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The stub-length design minimizes deflection and improves rigidity when working in shallow-to-moderate depth cuts. The straight cylindrical shank with a 0.1875-inch diameter fits standard collet chucks. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow conventional CNC toolpath programming standards.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines that accept a 0.1875-inch straight cylindrical shank via collet or end mill holder. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and non-ferrous metals per material codes K and N.
This tool is installed and changed by machinists or CNC operators following standard shop safety procedures. Always power down or E-stop the spindle and confirm zero RPM before installing or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the collet or holder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank, and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using appropriate wrenches. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a cut, particularly for tight-tolerance contouring work.
