The ROBBJACK C8-301-04 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.125 inch mill diameter and a 0.25 inch length of cut, this stub-length tool delivers rigidity and accuracy in tight-clearance applications. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.25 inch in diameter, fitting standard collet and end mill holders. This tool is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into workpieces without a pilot hole. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production environments, and tool rooms will find this end mill suited to slotting, profiling, and pocket milling.
The C8-301-04 is built for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual mills where a compact, high-rigidity carbide tool is required. Its stub-length design minimizes deflection during aggressive side milling and narrow slotting passes. The uncoated solid carbide construction in material grade C2 performs well in aluminum, brass, plastics, and general-purpose steels, particularly where re-sharpening or cost-per-edge economics favor uncoated blanks. This tool is a single-end design from the ROBBJACK Series C8-301 line.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 0.25 inch bore end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting straight-shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
