The ROBBJACK C40-0312-32-72 is a solid carbide slitting and slotting saw designed for precision cutting in demanding metalworking applications. Measuring 4 inches in diameter with a blade thickness of 0.0312 inches, this saw produces narrow, accurate slots and kerfs with minimal material removal. The 1-inch arbor hole provides secure mounting on standard arbors. With 72 straight teeth and a 5-degree rake angle, it delivers clean, controlled cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for carbide tooling used in applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this saw on milling machines and rotary tables.
This saw is suited for milling operations requiring thin, precise slots or cuts through cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, super alloys, and titanium. The concave-ground blade face reduces rubbing and heat buildup along the cut, making it appropriate for tight-tolerance slotting work in job shops, aerospace component machining, and general precision manufacturing environments. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional milling setups.
Designed for use on milling machines with standard 1-inch arbor tooling setups. Rated for cutting cast iron, stainless steel, steel, super alloys, and titanium per manufacturer material application data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the saw. Secure the blade firmly on the arbor with the appropriate spacers and drawbar torque per the machine manufacturer specifications. Inspect the blade for chips or cracks before each use, as solid carbide tooling is brittle and should never be used if damaged. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during operation.
