The ROBBJACK C1-401-02 is a solid carbide square end mill built for precision cutting in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.0625 inch (1/16 inch) mill diameter, a 3/16 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank, this tool is engineered for small-diameter work where rigidity and edge integrity are critical. The 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree spiral helix supports efficient chip evacuation and clean surface finishes. It runs right-hand cut and right-hand flute, uncoated, and is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and CNC operators working in precision shops install this type of tooling in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials in applications that require small-diameter tooling, including fine detail work, slotting, and profiling in molds, dies, and precision components. The C1-401 series targets regular-length tooling requirements where a compact 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps deflection low. The C2 carbide material grade provides the hardness needed for general-purpose cutting at elevated speeds. This tool is typically specified by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working on close-tolerance parts.
Designed as a standard straight-shank small-diameter square end mill for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and similar equipment that accept a 1/8 inch diameter straight cylindrical shank. Part of the ROBBJACK C1-401 series for regular-length solid carbide end mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Use the correct collet or end mill holder sized for the 1/8 inch shank diameter, and verify runout after installation with a dial indicator before cutting. Handle small-diameter carbide tools with care, as they are brittle and susceptible to chipping if dropped or side-loaded beyond rated parameters.
