The ROBBJACK B-440-04-C is a 4-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for both roughing and finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. Part of the B-440 Series Tuffy Grade carbide line, it carries a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) PVD coating that extends tool life in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. The mill diameter is 0.125 inches with a matching 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and a 1.5-inch overall length. The 40-degree high helix geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Single-end configuration is standard.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It fits standard CNC machining center spindles, manual mills, and die-and-mold applications where small-diameter ball nose profiling is required. The 0.0625-inch nose radius enables fine contour work and 3D surface finishing. Its compact size makes it well-matched for intricate pocket milling, slot finishing, and detail work in tool steels and exotic alloys encountered in aerospace, medical device, and precision die machining environments.
Designed for use on steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and superalloys and titanium (ISO S) workpieces. Fits any spindle or collet system accepting a 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the ROBBJACK B-440 Series standard-length ball end mill line.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a precision collet or end mill holder that accommodates a 0.125-inch diameter; confirm runout before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Observe manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material and do not exceed the stated length of cut to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
