The RIVETKING ABSM3.2X8PL100 is a peel blind rivet designed for structural and sheet-metal fastening applications where access is limited to one side of the workpiece. The aluminum body splits into multiple petals on installation, spreading load across a wider back surface area. The steel mandrel provides consistent pull force and reliable setting. Key specs include a 0.125-inch body diameter, a 0.255-inch dome head diameter, and a grip range of 0.125 to 0.138 inches. Tensile strength is rated at 270 pounds and shear strength at 225 pounds. Supplied in a package of 100 rivets.
Peel blind rivets are used in light-gauge metal, plastics, composites, and soft substrates where a standard closed-end rivet would pull through. The spreading petal action distributes clamping force and reduces the risk of pull-through in thinner or softer materials. Typical applications include HVAC ductwork panels, electrical enclosures, sheet metal cabinets, and general fabrication work. The zinc-plated finish provides basic corrosion resistance for indoor and light-duty outdoor use. Installation requires a standard blind rivet tool matched to the 0.125-inch mandrel diameter.
Designed for use in 0.129-inch hole diameter applications with material stack thickness ranging from 0.125 to 0.138 inches. Suitable for aluminum, light-gauge steel, plastic, and composite panels where one-sided fastening is required.
A licensed sheet metal mechanic, electrician, or general fabricator typically installs peel blind rivets using a standard manual or pneumatic rivet tool sized for the mandrel diameter. Verify hole diameter falls within the 0.129-inch specification before setting to ensure full petal expansion. Do not overdrive the mandrel, as this can collapse the petal spread and reduce clamp load. Follow applicable codes such as NEC or SMACNA guidelines when fastening electrical enclosures or ductwork panels.
