The RIVETKING ABA612LF/P500 is an open end blind rivet in size 612, featuring a large flange dome head, an aluminum body, and an aluminum mandrel. Sold in a package of 500, this rivet has a 3/16 inch body diameter and accepts a grip range of 0.626 to 0.750 inches. The large flange head measures 5/8 inch in diameter, distributing clamp load over a wider surface area - useful when fastening softer or thinner materials where a standard head would pull through. Tensile strength is rated at 320 pounds and shear strength at 260 pounds. The bright finish aluminum-to-aluminum construction resists galvanic corrosion in typical indoor and light outdoor applications. Installed with a standard blind rivet tool, this fastener is suited for sheet metal, enclosures, HVAC ductwork panels, and light structural assemblies.
The ABA612LF/P500 is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where a blind rivet installation is required from one side of the workpiece. Common use cases include HVAC cabinet and ductwork assembly, electrical enclosure fabrication, and sheet metal panel attachment. The 500-unit package quantity suits production environments and field service kits alike. The rivet is set with a standard hand or pneumatic rivet puller using a number 11 wire drill size pilot hole. Aluminum body and mandrel make it a practical choice where weight savings or non-ferrous material compatibility is a priority.
Designed as an open end blind rivet for use in any standard rivet tool accepting a 3/16 inch body diameter rivet. Requires a number 11 wire drill size pilot hole (minimum hole diameter 0.192 inches, maximum 0.196 inches). Meets IFI 114 Grade 11 fastener standard.
Installed by sheet metal workers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general fabricators using a hand-pull or pneumatic blind rivet tool. Drill the pilot hole to the correct diameter before insertion - an oversized hole will reduce clamp load and can allow the rivet to spin during setting. Deburr hole edges where possible to ensure full mandrel pull-through and a flush head seat. Dispose of spent mandrels per shop practice; do not reuse pulled mandrels as fasteners.
