The RIIFO px12500r is a 1/2-inch PEX-B tubing coil, 500 feet in length, supplied in red for hot-water line identification. PEX-B tubing is cross-linked polyethylene manufactured using the moisture-cure (silane) method, which produces a flexible, durable pipe suitable for residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic applications. The red color follows standard trade convention for hot-supply runs, making it easier to identify line function at the manifold or in the wall cavity. At 26.80 pounds per coil, it is manageable for a single installer. Licensed plumbers and hydronic heating contractors are the primary installers of this product.
This tubing is used in residential and light commercial potable water distribution systems, radiant floor heating loops, and baseboard hydronic systems. Its flexibility allows it to be routed through framing cavities, under slabs, and around obstacles with minimal fittings. The 500-foot coil length is well suited for new construction rough-in and larger retrofit hydronic layouts where continuous runs reduce the number of connections required.
Designed for use with standard 1/2-inch PEX fittings including crimp, clamp (cinch), and expansion-style connections compatible with PEX-B tubing in potable water and hydronic heating systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in jurisdictions that require it, and work should conform to the applicable plumbing code such as the IPC or UPC. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making any connections. PEX-B tubing requires the appropriate fitting style and properly rated crimp rings or clamp rings — do not mix fitting systems. Support tubing at intervals required by the applicable code and protect it from UV exposure, as PEX is not rated for continuous direct sunlight.
