The RHEEM rh2ty4821stannj is a multi-purpose residential air handler from the RH2TY Series, designed for split-system cooling and heat pump applications. Rated at 4 tons nominal capacity with 48,000 BTU/h cooling output, this unit runs on a constant torque ECM motor producing up to 1,600 CFM across four blower speeds. Operating on 208-240 volts single phase at 60 Hz, it draws 5 amps and consumes 559 watts. A factory-installed TXV metering device and R-454B refrigerant compatibility make this unit ready for modern low-GWP system installations. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and commissioning.
This air handler suits residential new construction and replacement applications where flexible configuration is required. Its multi-position design supports upflow, downflow, horizontal left, and horizontal right orientations, making it adaptable to attic, closet, basement, and utility room installs. The unit achieves a SEER rating of 13.4 to 16 depending on the matched outdoor condensing unit. The non-communicating control interface is compatible with standard single-stage and two-stage thermostat wiring. A 20 x 20 inch filter rack accommodates standard-size filters for straightforward maintenance access.
Designed as an OEM replacement and new-install air handler within the RHEEM RH2TY Series, intended for use with matched split-system or heat pump outdoor units that support R-454B refrigerant and non-communicating control wiring.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing electrical connections or the blower assembly. Refrigerant line connections require proper brazing or flare technique and system evacuation before charging with R-454B. Verify that the drain pan, condensate line, and filter rack are correctly oriented for the chosen configuration prior to startup.
