The RHEEM 670008a is a regular clear PVC solvent cement supplied in a 4-ounce container, formulated for joining PVC pipe and fittings across all schedules and classes. It handles pipe up to 4 inches for Schedule 40 applications and up to 2 inches for Schedule 80. The low-VOC formula satisfies California South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) 1168/316A and BAAQMD Method 40 requirements, as well as ASTM D2564. Plumbers and pipefitters use this cement on potable water systems, pressure pipe, electrical conduit, and DWV assemblies. The recommended application temperature range is 40 degrees F to 110 degrees F.
This cement is suited for residential and light commercial PVC piping installations where a clear, clean-looking joint is required. It is appropriate for cold and hot water supply lines, drain-waste-vent stacks, and PVC conduit runs. The low-VOC formulation makes it compliant for use in jurisdictions with strict air quality regulations, including California. It is packaged in a 4-ounce can, making it practical for service calls and smaller repair jobs where carrying a full quart is unnecessary.
Designed for use on all schedules and classes of PVC pipe and fittings up to 4 inches for Schedule 40 and up to 2 inches for Schedule 80, including potable water, pressure pipe, conduit, and DWV systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Before applying cement, cut pipe square, deburr all edges, and dry-fit components to confirm alignment. Apply cement while working within the recommended temperature window, and never apply to wet or contaminated surfaces. Ensure adequate ventilation during application, as solvent cements release fumes that require fresh air circulation per OSHA and manufacturer safety guidance.
