The RHEEM 61-105025-06 is a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) designed for R-410A refrigerant systems in residential heat pump applications. The TXV meters refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil, maintaining the correct superheat level to maximize system efficiency and protect the compressor from liquid slugging. This valve uses a 3/8-inch soldered inlet and a 3/8-inch soldered outlet, making it a direct-fit component for compatible RHEEM heat pump units in the 3 to 4 ton capacity range. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians as part of a refrigerant-side service or coil replacement.
This TXV is intended for use on RHEEM RP14 series heat pump systems in the 3 to 4 ton capacity range. It is suited for residential split-system installations where precise refrigerant metering is required to maintain rated EER and system performance. If replacing a failed or underperforming expansion device, this valve restores factory-spec refrigerant flow control to the evaporator circuit.
Compatible with RHEEM RP14 series heat pump systems in the 3 to 4 ton capacity range using R-410A refrigerant.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC technician. Recover all refrigerant from the system before opening any refrigerant-side connections. The soldered connections require standard brazing tools and procedures; purge the line set with dry nitrogen during brazing to prevent oxidation inside the valve body. After installation, leak-test all joints and recharge the system to the manufacturer-specified refrigerant charge before verifying superheat settings.
