The RH PETERSON VO8E-20 is a seven-piece Valley Oak replacement log set sized at 20 inches for use with vent-free gas burners. Constructed from refractory ceramic materials, each log is hand-crafted to replicate the look of seasoned oak with realistic bark texture and flame-shadow detailing. This log set is designed to work exclusively with the G8E series vent-free burner and is not interchangeable with other burner platforms. It is sold as logs only — a compatible G8E burner is required for operation. Licensed gas technicians install this set in residential fireplaces where no chimney or flue connection is available, making it a practical choice for condos, older homes, and retrofit fireplace applications.
The VO8E-20 is intended for smaller residential fireplaces where a 20-inch log set fits the firebox proportions. The required G8E burner is available in two BTU outputs: 9,500 BTU/h (approved for bedroom installations) and 20,000 BTU/h. Minimum fireplace opening dimensions for this log set paired with the G8E burner are 21 inches front width, 13 inches rear width, 9.5 inches deep, and 17 inches high. This product cannot be shipped to the state of California per vent-free product regulations.
The VO8E-20 log set is certified for use only with the RH PETERSON G8E series vent-free burner. It is not a universal log set and must not be used with any non-certified burner. Using this log set with an uncertified burner creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide exposure, and property damage. The G8E burner is available with a manual valve or an on/off remote option.
Installation of vent-free gas log sets must be performed by a licensed gas technician in accordance with local codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply at the main valve before positioning logs or making any burner connections. Verify fireplace opening dimensions meet the published minimums before installation — undersized fireboxes are a common cause of improper combustion. Vent-free appliances require adequate room air volume for safe operation; consult local building and mechanical codes before installing in confined spaces or bedrooms.
