The RH PETERSON MCS-24 is a 24-inch Mountain Crest Split Oak replacement log set designed for vented gas burner systems. Constructed from refractory ceramic with reinforced internal steel rods, this 8-piece log set is hand-painted to replicate the appearance of real split oak. The refractory ceramic material withstands sustained high temperatures without degrading, and the steel rod reinforcement reduces chipping and cracking over the service life of the set. This log set is installed by gas appliance technicians and fireplace service professionals working on vented gas fireplace systems.
The MCS-24 is intended for residential vented gas fireplace applications. The log set was specifically designed for use with the Peterson G31 burner, which is available with multiple valve configurations including match light (natural gas only), manual, millivolt, and electronic ignition options. A vented burner and valve kit are required and sold separately. This log set is not universal and is certified only for use with compatible vented burners. Using this log set with a non-certified burner creates serious risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage.
Designed specifically for use with the Peterson G31 vented burner. Compatible valve options for the G31 burner include match light (natural gas only), manual, millivolt, and electronic ignition. This log set is not certified for universal use and must only be paired with the specified compatible vented burner and valve kit.
Installation should be performed by a qualified gas appliance technician or licensed fireplace service professional. Shut off the gas supply completely before handling any burner or log set components. Verify that the burner and valve kit are certified for use with this log set before installation, as mismatched components present fire and carbon monoxide hazards. Installations must comply with local gas codes and the appliance manufacturer's instructions.
