The RH PETERSON HCHR-16 is a 16-inch Burnt Rustic Oak replacement log set designed for vented gas fireplaces. This set includes 6 refractory ceramic logs cast from real wood samples to replicate natural grain and bark texture. Each log is reinforced with internal steel rods to resist chipping and breakage over time. The HCHR-16 is intended as a logs-only replacement component and requires a compatible vented burner and valve kit, sold separately. It is installed by licensed fireplace technicians or qualified HVAC professionals familiar with vented gas appliance service.
This log set is rated for use in vented gas fireplace applications only. It is not designed for vent-free or direct-vent systems. The 16-inch sizing suits smaller residential fireplace openings. Compatible vented burner options include the Peterson G4 and G45 series. A complete package combining this log set with a vented burner and valve kit is also available as the Vented Burnt Rustic Oak Log Set Package for Smaller Fireplaces. This set is not universal and must be paired exclusively with a certified compatible burner to operate safely.
Compatible with Peterson G4 and G45 series vented burners. This log set is certified for use with specific burners only and is not a universal fit. A complete Vented Burnt Rustic Oak Log Set Package for Smaller Fireplaces is also available, combining the HCHR-16 logs with a vented burner and valve kit.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with vented gas fireplace systems. Shut off the gas supply at the appliance shutoff valve before handling any burner or log components. Log placement must follow the manufacturer-specified arrangement for the paired burner model — improper log positioning can obstruct flame pattern and create a carbon monoxide hazard. This log set must never be used with a non-certified or vent-free burner, as doing so creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage.
