The RH PETERSON G8E-16/20/24R is a vent-free, manual-control natural gas burner designed for use with Real-Fyre Valley Oak log sets in indoor single-sided fireplaces. Rated at 9,500 BTU/h, this burner operates without a flue or external venting system, making it suitable for retrofit and new installations in rooms where a vented appliance is not practical. It includes an ODS (oxygen depletion sensor) safety system, a custom grate, a connector kit, and a decorative log front panel. The unit is ANSI certified and approved for bedroom and bathroom installations where permitted by local code. A licensed gas technician should handle all connections and commissioning.
This burner is intended for indoor use in single-sided, residential fireplace applications. It accommodates Real-Fyre Valley Oak log sets in three sizes: 16 inches, 20 inches, and 24 inches. Minimum fireplace opening requirements vary by log set size. The rear width minimum is 13 inches, minimum depth is 9.5 inches, and minimum height is 17 inches. Required front widths are 17 inches for the 16-inch log set, 21 inches for the 20-inch log set, and 26 inches for the 24-inch log set. The unit is also rated for mobile home installation. Log sets are sold separately. A liquid propane variant is available under a separate part number.
This burner is certified for use with specific Real-Fyre Valley Oak log sets only in 16-inch, 20-inch, and 24-inch sizes. Burners are not universal. Using this burner with a non-compatible log set can result in fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage. Log sets are sold separately.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas technician in accordance with applicable local and national codes, including NFPA 54 and any jurisdictional requirements for vent-free appliances. Shut off the gas supply at the main valve before making any connections. Verify minimum fireplace opening dimensions before selecting a log set size. Vent-free products cannot be shipped to California, and state or local codes in some areas prohibit their use — confirm compliance with local building codes before installation.
