The RH PETERSON G8E-16/20/24R-12P is a vent-free liquid propane burner designed for use with compatible Real-Fyre Valley Oak log sets in 16, 20, and 24 inch sizes. Rated at 9500 BTU maximum output, this millivolt burner ships with a remote on/off control, a custom grate, a decorative log front panel, and a connector kit. It carries ANSI certification and includes an Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) safety system, making it approved for bedroom and bathroom installations where permitted by local code. Licensed gas professionals install this unit in single-sided indoor fireplaces, including mobile homes. Log sets are sold separately and must be compatible — using a non-approved log set creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage.
This burner is intended for single-sided, indoor, vent-free fireplace installations fueled by liquid propane. It is rated for bedroom and bathroom use and carries mobile home approval. Minimum fireplace opening requirements vary by log set size: all three sizes require at least 13 inches rear width, 9.5 inches depth, and 17 inches height. Front width minimums are 17 inches for the 16-inch log set, 21 inches for the 20-inch log set, and 26 inches for the 24-inch log set. A natural gas version is available separately under part number G8E16/20/24R12N. Vent-free products cannot be shipped to California, and some state and local codes prohibit vent-free appliances — verify local building codes before installation.
Certified for use exclusively with specific Real-Fyre Valley Oak log sets in 16, 20, and 24 inch sizes. Burners are not universal — installation with any non-approved log set is prohibited. Log sets are sold separately. Compatible with liquid propane fuel supply only; a separate natural gas version (G8E16/20/24R12N) is available for natural gas applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas professional in accordance with applicable local, state, and national codes, including NFPA 54 and the manufacturer instructions. Shut off the LP supply at the tank and verify zero pressure at the appliance before beginning any connection work. Confirm fireplace opening dimensions meet the minimum requirements for the log set size being installed before fitting the burner. Vent-free products are prohibited in some jurisdictions — always verify local building codes prior to installation.
