The RH PETERSON G46-18/20-17P is an ANSI-certified Triple T vented gas log burner designed for single-sided, indoor fireplaces fueled by liquid propane. Rated at 40,000 BTU/h, it features a main burner tube running the center of the grate and a smaller front flame burner that tees off the main tube, creating three additional flame outlets for realistic depth and a glowing ember bed. The factory-installed APK-17 variable flame remote safety pilot system is pre-assembled with a control valve and regulator, eliminating field assembly of the pilot kit. The angled burner body attaches the pilot to the side rather than the end, cutting required side clearance by more than half compared to conventional designs. Licensed gas technicians and certified hearth professionals install and commission this burner.
The G46-18/20-17P is designed for use in single-sided indoor fireplaces with a minimum firebox width of 26 inches at the front, 20 inches at the rear, 20 inches depth, and 15 inches height. It accepts 18-inch and 20-inch Real-Fyre gas log sets only. Log sets, embers, and optional remote upgrade kits are sold separately. The burner is approved for mobile home installations and is intended for vented applications only. Inlet gas pressure must be maintained between 11.0 inches w.c. and 13.0 inches w.c. for proper operation. Gas supply connection is 1/2 inch.
The G46-18/20-17P is certified for use with specific Real-Fyre gas log sets sized at 18 inches or 20 inches only. Burners are not universal and must be paired with compatible log sets. Using this burner with a non-compatible log set presents risks of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage. Consult the RH PETERSON approved log set list before selecting a log set for this burner.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas technician or certified hearth professional in accordance with local codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply at the main valve and confirm zero pressure before connecting or servicing the burner or pilot assembly. Verify firebox dimensions meet the minimum requirements before installation, and ensure the flue damper is propped open using the included damper clamp during operation. Vented installation is required; this burner is not approved for unvented or vent-free use.
