The RH PETERSON G45-24-17 is a 24-inch Triple T vented natural gas burner designed for single-sided, indoor fireplaces. It produces up to 90,000 BTU/h and operates on natural gas with a 1/2-inch gas connection. The Triple T configuration features a main burner tube running the length of the pan and a smaller front-flame tube that branches off, positioning flame directly beneath the log set to produce both dancing surface flames and a visible bed of glowing embers. The system ships complete with an APK-17 variable-flame remote-control safety pilot, which uses a standing pilot and allows remote or manual adjustment of flame height. A licensed gas technician performs the installation.
This burner is rated for fireplaces with a minimum opening of 34 inches wide, 28 inches deep, and 13 inches tall. The G45-24-17 is mobile-home approved and designed for traditional log-set applications in single-sided, vented indoor fireplaces. The included APK-17 pilot system features a low-profile adjustable pilot valve that requires minimal clearance inside the firebox. The unit ships with a burner pan, grate, glowing embers, sand, burner clips, flex connector kit, and damper clamp. An optional VR-2 Deluxe Remote with thermostat, timer, clock, and room temperature display is available separately. A compatible RH PETERSON Real-Fyre gas log set is required and sold separately.
The G45-24-17 is certified to work with specific RH PETERSON Real-Fyre gas log sets only; a compatible 24-inch allowable log set is required. Burners and log sets are not universal — using a non-compatible log set creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide exposure, and property damage. Confirm log-set compatibility with the manufacturer before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas technician in accordance with the applicable gas code (IFGC or local equivalent) and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply at the main valve and verify the line is fully depressurized before making any connections. Inlet gas pressure must be verified within the 5.0 to 10.5 inches water column range before lighting; do not operate outside those limits. A damper clamp is included to prevent accidental flue closure during operation, and its installation is required before first use.
