The RH PETERSON G4-12 is a vented, natural gas glowing ember burner system designed for single-sided indoor fireplaces. It features a single tube burner that runs through the center of the pan, producing flames that dance across the full length of the tube. Rated at 25,000 BTU/h maximum output, this match-light burner operates on natural gas with an inlet pressure range of 5.0 to 10.5 inches water column. The G4-12 is a base-model burner and does not produce the same ember glow intensity or front flame effect as higher-tier G45 series burners. Licensed gas technicians and qualified fireplace installers are the intended trades for this equipment.
The G4-12 is rated for indoor, single-sided fireplace installations and is approved for mobile home use. It is sized for 12-inch log sets and requires a compatible Real-Fyre gas log set, which is sold separately. This burner is certified to function only with specific compatible log sets — using it with a non-compatible log set creates serious risks including fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage. The match-light ignition means no electronic igniter or remote control is included or available for this model.
Designed for use with Real-Fyre gas log sets sized for 12-inch applications. This burner is not universal — it is certified to work only with specific compatible log sets. The log set is sold separately and must be verified for compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas technician or qualified fireplace professional in accordance with local codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply completely before making any connections or adjustments. The 1/2-inch gas connection must be leak-tested after assembly using an approved method — never use an open flame to check for leaks. Ensure the damper clamp is installed as directed to prevent the damper from being closed while the burner is in use.
