The RH PETERSON G31-24/30PA is a three-tiered vented gas log burner designed for use with liquid propane in single-sided, wood-burning fireplaces equipped with a gas line. It operates at up to 50,000 BTU/h and uses a manual valve with a standing pilot ignition system — no remote required. The three-tier design produces tall, robust center flames with graduated mid and ember flames, delivering a realistic fire appearance while consuming fewer BTUs than comparable vented burner systems. This burner is certified for mobile home installation and is intended for indoor, single-sided fireplace applications only. It accepts 24-inch or 30-inch compatible gas log sets, sold separately.
The G31-24/30PA is for use in a vented, single-sided indoor fireplace with a dedicated gas supply line. It accommodates two log set sizes. Minimum fireplace dimensions for a 24-inch log set are 35 inches front width, 25 inches rear width, 15 inches depth (measured from inside the lip), and 17 inches height. Minimum dimensions for a 30-inch log set are 39 inches front width, 28 inches rear width, 15 inches depth, and 17 inches height. Verify fireplace dimensions before selecting a log set size. This burner accepts liquid propane only; a natural gas version is available separately.
This burner is designed to work with specific 24-inch or 30-inch gas log sets only and is not universal. Compatible log sets include Mountain Crest Oak (MCO24 or MCO30), Mountain Crest Split Oak (MCS24 or MCS30), Charred Angel Oak (CHNA24 or CHNA30), Charred Angel Split Oak (CHNS24 or CHNS30), Charred Oak (CHD24 or CHD30), Charred American Oak (CHAO24 or CHAO30), Charred Royal English Oak (CHB24 or CHB30), and Charred Split (CHS24 or CHS30). Using this burner with a non-compatible log set creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage. Log set is sold separately.
Installation should be performed by a licensed gas technician or qualified fireplace professional in accordance with local codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply at the source before beginning any installation or service work. Confirm fireplace dimensions, gas type (liquid propane), and log set compatibility before installation. A damper clamp is included to prevent accidental damper closure during operation — this component must be installed as directed.
