The RH PETERSON G31-24/30-2VT is a three-tiered vented natural gas burner engineered for use inside a wood-burning fireplace that has been fitted with a gas supply line. It operates at up to 50,000 BTU/h and features an electronic valve with intermittent pilot ignition along with a variable flame remote control. The tiered burner design produces tall, robust top flames approximately 3 to 5 inches above and between the logs, with the center flame being the tallest. Middle flames should reach at or below the top of the front log, and ember flames should sit approximately 0.25 to 1 inch above the ember bed at the front of the burner. This unit is intended for installation by a licensed gas technician and is certified for mobile home use.
The G31-24/30-2VT is designed exclusively for single-sided, indoor, vented fireplaces burning natural gas. It accommodates either 24-inch or 30-inch compatible log sets — not both simultaneously. Minimum fireplace opening for the 24-inch log set configuration is 35 inches front width, 25 inches rear width, 15 inches depth (measured from inside the lip), and 17 inches height. For the 30-inch log set configuration, the minimum opening is 39 inches front width, 28 inches rear width, 15 inches depth, and 17 inches height. Confirm fireplace dimensions before selecting a log set size. This burner is NOT compatible with arbitrary log sets — only the specific series listed below.
This burner is certified to work only with specific log sets. Designed log sets include Mountain Crest Oak (MCO24 or MCO30), Mountain Crest Split Oak (MCS24 or MCS30), Charred Angel Oak (CHNA24 or CHNA30), and Charred Angel Split Oak (CHNS24 or CHNS30). Additional compatible log sets include Charred Oak (CHD24 or CHD30), Charred American Oak (CHAO24 or CHAO30), Charred Royal English Oak (CHB24 or CHB30), and Charred Split (CHS24 or CHS30). Using this burner with a non-compatible log set creates serious risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage. Log set is sold separately.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54). Shut off the gas supply completely before making or disconnecting any gas connections. Verify fireplace minimum dimensions and confirm the selected log set is on the approved compatibility list before installation. The damper must be secured open using the included damper clamp whenever the burner is in operation.
