The RH PETERSON G31-24/30-2VPT is a three-tiered vented gas log burner designed for liquid propane (LP) service in a single-sided, wood-burning fireplace equipped with a gas line. Rated at 50,000 BTU/h maximum, the burner uses an electronic valve with intermittent pilot ignition and includes a variable flame remote for convenient flame-height adjustment. The three-tier flame design produces tall, robust center flames approximately 3 to 5 inches above and between the logs, with middle flames at or below the top of the front log and ember flames approximately 0.25 to 1 inch above the front embers. Licensed HVAC or gas appliance technicians perform the installation under applicable gas codes.
This burner is intended for indoor, single-sided fireplaces using vented operation with a traditional log set style. It accommodates either 24-inch or 30-inch compatible gas log sets. For use with a 24-inch log set, minimum fireplace dimensions are 35 inches front width, 25 inches rear width, 15 inches depth (measured from inside the lip), and 17 inches height. For use with a 30-inch log set, minimum dimensions are 39 inches front width, 28 inches rear width, 15 inches depth, and 17 inches height. The unit is certified for mobile home installation. Log sets are sold separately and must be confirmed compatible before purchase.
The G31-24/30-2VPT is designed to work with specific 24-inch and 30-inch gas log sets only. Compatible log sets include Mountain Crest Oak (MCO24 or MCO30), Mountain Crest Split Oak (MCS24 or MCS30), Charred Angel Oak (CHNA24 or CHNA30), and Charred Angel Split Oak (CHNS24 or CHNS30). Additional compatible sets include Charred Oak (CHD24 or CHD30), Charred American Oak (CHAO24 or CHAO30), Charred Royal English Oak (CHB24 or CHB30), and Charred Split (CHS24 or CHS30). Using this burner with a non-listed log set can result in fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, or property damage. Confirm log set compatibility before installation.
Installation must be performed by a qualified gas appliance technician or licensed contractor in accordance with local gas codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply at the main valve and verify zero pressure before connecting or disconnecting any gas fittings. The fireplace damper must be secured in the open position using the included damper clamp whenever the burner is in operation. Because burners are certified to work only with specific log sets, verify log set compatibility before lighting the appliance — do not operate with substitute or non-listed logs.
