The RH PETERSON G18-24/30 is a vent-free, manual-control natural gas burner designed for indoor single-sided fireplaces. Rated at 30,000 BTU/h maximum output, it uses manual ignition with no remote option and is compatible with 24-inch and 30-inch Evening Fyre Log Sets sold separately. The unit ships pre-assembled with a control valve, an ODS (oxygen depletion sensor) pilot safety system, a custom grate, and a connector kit. Glowing embers, Bryte Coals, and Lava-Fyre Granules are included. This burner carries ANSI certification and is approved for mobile home installation. Natural gas only; a liquid propane variant is available under a separate part number.
This burner is intended strictly for indoor, single-sided fireplace applications. It accommodates traditional log set media in the Charred Series line. Minimum fireplace opening requirements vary by log set size: for 24-inch log sets, the firebox must measure at least 30 inches front width, 20 inches rear width, 14 inches depth, and 17 inches height. For 30-inch log sets, the firebox must measure at least 36 inches front width, 26 inches rear width, 14 inches depth, and 17 inches height. Vent-free products cannot be shipped to California. State and local codes in some jurisdictions prohibit vent-free appliances. Verify local building codes before ordering or installing.
Designed for use with RH PETERSON 24-inch and 30-inch Evening Fyre Log Sets in the Charred Series only. Burners are certified to work with specific log sets and are not universal. Using this burner with a non-compatible log set creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage. Log sets are sold separately.
Installation must be performed by a qualified gas technician or licensed professional in accordance with local building codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply at the main valve and verify zero pressure before making any connections. The 1/2-inch gas connection must be supplied within the inlet pressure range of 5.0 to 10.5 inches water column. Vent-free appliances require no flue connection, but adequate room ventilation and compliance with local vent-free regulations are mandatory before placing the unit in service.
