The RH PETERSON ECV-16/18 is a hand-crafted refractory ceramic gas log set designed for vent-free fireplace installations. The set includes five ceramic logs and two decorative wood chunk covers, each log hand-painted with authentic charring detail for a realistic wood-fire appearance. Reinforced steel rods are embedded into each log during manufacturing to reduce chipping and breakage over the service life of the set. The ember bed features Bryte Coals for added visual depth. This log set is for use exclusively with the G18 vent-free burner and is installed by qualified gas appliance technicians.
The ECV-16/18 is rated for vent-free residential fireplace installations where no chimney or flue is present. The set is available in 16-inch and 18-inch sizing to fit compatible G18 vent-free burner configurations. Vent-free installations allow fireplace operation without a dedicated venting system while still producing a realistic flame pattern. This log set is for decorative gas log use only and is not compatible with wood-burning or B-vent applications. Note: vent-free products cannot be shipped to the state of California.
The ECV-16/18 is certified for use only with the G18 vent-free burner. This log set is not universal and is not compatible with non-certified burners. Use with a non-certified burner creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, and property damage. A G18 vent-free burner with a compatible valve is required and sold separately.
Installation of vent-free gas log sets must be performed by a licensed gas appliance technician in accordance with local codes and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply completely before servicing or positioning logs. Log placement must follow the certified burner manufacturer layout diagram exactly — incorrect positioning can affect combustion performance and safety. Vent-free appliances require adequate room air volume and must not be installed in sealed spaces without proper sizing per local mechanical codes.
