The RH PETERSON CHNA-18/20 is an 18-inch Charred Angel Oak replacement log set designed for use with vented gas burners. The set includes 7 hand-crafted refractory ceramic logs that are hand-painted to replicate the look of real charred wood. Each log contains internal reinforced steel rods for added durability and resistance to chipping and breaking at high operating temperatures. This log set is intended for installation by qualified fireplace technicians or gas appliance service professionals in residential vented gas fireplace systems. It is sold as logs only and requires a compatible vented burner and valve kit, sold separately.
This log set is designed for use in vented gas fireplace applications and is not a universal-fit product. It was specifically engineered for use with the Peterson G31 vented burner. The G31 burner is compatible with several valve configurations, including match light (natural gas only), manual, millivolt, and electronic ignition options. This makes the CHNA-18/20 a direct option for new installations or as a replacement log set in existing G31 burner setups. Refractory ceramic construction allows the logs to retain structural integrity during repeated high-temperature cycles.
Specifically designed for use with the Peterson G31 vented burner. This log set is not universal and is certified for use with specific burners only. Using this log set with a non-certified burner can result in fire, carbon monoxide exposure, or property damage. A vented burner and valve kit are required and sold separately.
Installation should be performed by a licensed gas appliance technician or qualified fireplace service professional. Shut off the gas supply completely before handling or positioning any components in the firebox. Verify that the burner and valve assembly are certified for use with this log set prior to installation, as mismatched components present a serious safety risk. Local codes, including applicable sections of the IFGC, govern gas appliance installation and should be consulted before proceeding.
