The RH PETERSON CHD-24 is a 24-inch refractory ceramic log set designed as a replacement for vented gas fireplace burner systems. The set includes 8 logs total — 6 full-size logs and 2 smaller chunk pieces — molded from real log samples to produce a realistic wood-fire appearance. Reinforced steel rods are embedded in each log to resist chipping and breaking during normal service life. A vented burner and valve kit are required for operation and are sold separately. This log set is intended for installation by a qualified gas appliance technician.
The CHD-24 is rated for use with vented gas burners only and is not compatible with vent-free or B-vent universal burner assemblies. The set is certified for use with the Peterson G4, G45, and G46 burner series. Gas flames travel through the log stack to create a layered, realistic fire view. Typical installation scenarios include residential gas fireplaces with existing vented burner systems requiring a log set replacement. The CHD-24 is also available as part of a complete vented Charred Oak log set package when paired with a compatible burner and valve kit.
Certified for use with the Peterson G4, G45, and G46 vented burner series. This log set requires a vented burner and valve kit. It is not rated for vent-free burner systems. Using this log set with a non-certified burner creates risk of fire, carbon monoxide exposure, and property damage.
Installation should be performed by a licensed gas appliance technician familiar with local fuel gas codes, including the IFGC. Shut off the gas supply at the valve before removing or repositioning any components in the firebox. Do not use this log set with any burner not listed in the certification documentation. Follow the burner manufacturer's log placement diagram precisely — incorrect log positioning can obstruct flame ports and create hazardous combustion conditions.
