The RESIDEO CQ100A1021 is a 30-millivolt universal thermocouple designed for gas pilot safety control applications. It monitors the pilot flame and signals the gas valve to shut off fuel flow if the pilot goes out, preventing unburned gas from accumulating. At 18 inches in length, it fits a wide range of pilot burner assemblies without modification. A universal adapter is included, accommodating screw-in, clamp-in, and push-in pilot burner configurations. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and gas appliance service professionals install this part as a routine maintenance or repair component.
The CQ100A1021 is suited for residential and light commercial gas-fired equipment. Typical applications include gas furnaces, boilers, domestic water heaters, and freestanding room heaters that use a standing pilot ignition system rather than electronic ignition. The 30mV output is standard for millivolt-operated gas valve systems found in older and current standing-pilot appliances.
Designed as an OEM-style universal replacement thermocouple for gas furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and room heaters equipped with 30mV standing-pilot gas valve systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or qualified gas appliance service professional in accordance with local codes and IFGC guidelines. Shut off the gas supply at the appliance shutoff valve and allow all components to cool before handling the existing thermocouple. The thermocouple tip must be positioned fully in the pilot flame for proper operation — do not overtighten the fitting connection at the gas valve. Verify pilot flame engulfs the thermocouple tip after startup and confirm the gas valve holds before returning the appliance to service.
