The RESIDEO AM100-UPTG-1LF/U is a lead-free, union press mixing valve designed to adjust, maintain, and limit hot water delivery temperatures in residential plumbing systems. It operates across a temperature range of 70 to 145 degrees F and accepts 1/2 inch connections. A built-in temperature gauge gives installers and service techs a direct visual read of outlet temperature without additional fittings. The valve is built on the AM-1 series platform, which uses a proportional mixing element to simultaneously control hot and cold water supply under changing line conditions. Anti-scald and anti-chill protection are integral to the design, making it appropriate for domestic hot water distribution where code or safety requirements apply.
This valve is suited for residential hot water systems where temperature control at the point of distribution is required, such as water heater outlets, mixing manifolds, or fixture supply lines. The union press end connections simplify installation in copper piping systems without the need for solder, and the lead-free construction meets requirements for potable water applications. It is typically installed by licensed plumbers during new construction or retrofit service calls where scald protection or temperature limiting is mandated by local code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation mixing valve for residential potable hot water systems using 1/2 inch union press connections in copper piping.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASSE 1017 standards where required. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making any connections. Union press fittings require a compatible press tool and correct jaw size for the pipe diameter. Verify outlet temperature with the integrated gauge after startup and adjust the valve setting as needed before returning the system to service.
