The RESEARCH PRODUCTS 800A is a fluorescent magnetic particle inspection aerosol used for non-destructive testing (NDT) of ferromagnetic components. It combines Mi Glow 800 fluorescent particles with a petroleum-based carrier fluid called CircleSol M, delivered in a ready-to-use aerosol format. The particles exhibit exceptional sensitivity, uniform particle size, and ideal magnetic characteristics, producing a bright yellow-green fluorescent indication under ultraviolet light. The 800A is handled by NDT technicians and quality control inspectors performing magnetic particle inspection (MPI) on industrial, aerospace, or structural components.
The 800A is suited for wet fluorescent magnetic particle inspection applications in shop or field environments. The oil-based carrier is appropriate for use where aqueous carriers are not preferred, such as on surfaces sensitive to water or in conditions requiring a petroleum-based medium. It is applied directly to magnetized ferromagnetic parts to reveal surface and near-surface discontinuities. The premixed, aerosol format eliminates the need for separate particle and carrier mixing, making it practical for both production and maintenance inspection settings.
Designed for use in wet fluorescent magnetic particle inspection procedures on ferromagnetic components. Suitable for oil-bath MPI applications per standard NDT inspection protocols.
This product is applied by qualified NDT technicians following established magnetic particle inspection procedures. Ensure the part is properly magnetized before application and that inspection is performed under appropriate ultraviolet light conditions. Use in a well-ventilated area due to petroleum carrier content, and observe applicable safety data sheet guidance for handling aerosol and petroleum-based products. Demagnetize components after inspection as required by the applicable inspection standard.
