The RENEW AIRE ev130-8 is a static plate energy recovery ventilator (ERV) designed for residential HVAC applications. It delivers 50 to 140 CFM of continuous or controlled fresh air exchange using a static plate heat and humidity transfer core, which eliminates the need for a condensate drain line. The unit runs on 120 volts at 60 Hz, single phase, draws 1.3 amps at full load, and is rated at 0.1 HP and 102 watts at 130 CFM. A licensed HVAC technician or mechanical contractor is the typical installer. The ev130-8 ships with an onboard 24 VAC transformer and relay package with switched dry contact, supporting integration with existing HVAC control wiring.
This unit is sized for average single-family residential homes. It mounts vertically or horizontally overhead or on a wall using the standard integral mounting flange, giving installers flexibility in tight mechanical spaces. In new construction or remodel projects, it can replace standard bathroom exhaust fans while providing 100 percent separation of exhaust air from incoming fresh air. The onboard controls include a percentage timer and a percentage timer with furnace interlock, plus a pushbutton point-of-use control. A MERV 8 spun polyester filter at 10.5 inches by 10.5 inches by 1 inch protects the core and blowers.
Designed for residential ventilation applications as a standalone ERV or as a replacement for standard bathroom exhaust fans in new construction and remodel situations. Requires a wall cap and back draft damper (sold separately) for complete installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or mechanical contractor familiar with residential ventilation systems and applicable local mechanical codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit and any connected HVAC equipment before beginning installation or service. Mount the unit securely to structural framing using the integral flange before making any duct or control wiring connections. Required accessories including a wall cap and back draft damper must be installed to ensure proper airflow direction and prevent unconditioned air infiltration when the unit is off.
