The REHAU 235371-101 RauPEX Oxygen Barrier PEX-a Pipe is a 3/4 inch nominal, 20-foot length of high-performance cross-linked polyethylene pipe designed for hydronic heating, radiant floor heating, and radiant cooling systems. This pipe features a co-extruded ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) oxygen diffusion barrier that significantly limits oxygen permeability. Preventing oxygen from entering the system is critical in closed-loop hydronic circuits because dissolved oxygen causes corrosion in metal components such as boilers, pumps, manifolds, and fittings. The EVOH barrier layer addresses this directly, extending the service life of the entire system. PEX-a pipe is manufactured using the Engel method, which produces the highest degree of cross-linking among PEX pipe types. This results in superior flexibility, shape memory, and resistance to kinking during installation. The pipe can be bent tightly around corners and will return to its original shape if kinked, making it easier to work with in tight spaces compared to PEX-b or PEX-c alternatives. The 235371-101 carries a working pressure rating of 160 psi, making it suitable for demanding residential and light commercial hydronic applications. Wall thickness is 0.097 inches, and the outside diameter measures 7/8 inches. The pipe is compatible with F876 and F1960 PEX connection standards, meaning it works with expansion-style fittings commonly used in professional radiant and hydronic installations. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors will find this pipe ready for use in radiant panel systems, snow melt systems, and baseboard heating loops. It delivers long-term pressure retention and temperature stability across a wide operating range.
The REHAU 235371-101 RauPEX Oxygen Barrier PEX-a Pipe delivers reliable performance in hydronic and radiant heating and cooling systems, combining an EVOH oxygen barrier with the flexibility and strength of PEX-a construction in a 3/4 inch, 20-foot length.
