The REHAU 132591-023 is a 2-inch nominal, 20-foot straight length of RauPEX PEX-a pipe engineered with a 12-month UV shield for job-site exposure tolerance. Made from crosslinked polyethylene (PEX-a), it carries a working pressure of 160 psi at 73.4 degrees F and features a 0.236-inch wall thickness with an outside diameter of 2.125 inches. The SDR 9 schedule rating delivers consistent wall geometry throughout the run. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this pipe in domestic hot and cold water distribution, hydronic heating, and radiant systems where flexible routing through tight mechanical chases is an advantage over rigid copper or CPVC.
This pipe is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic applications where straight-length PEX-a is preferred over coiled formats. The 20-foot straight length is practical for longer uninterrupted runs in open framing, basement mechanical rooms, and commercial rough-in work. Its flexibility relative to rigid pipe simplifies navigation around existing framing, conduit, and ductwork without the need for additional fittings. The UV shield formulation extends acceptable outdoor or open-air storage and staging time on active job sites compared to standard PEX pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation straight-length PEX-a pipe for residential and commercial domestic water distribution and hydronic heating systems using 2-inch nominal PEX fittings and expansion-style connections.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the applicable sections of the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. PEX-a pipe requires expansion-style tooling or manufacturer-approved crimp and clamp fittings rated for the nominal pipe size; do not mix connection methods not listed for PEX-a. Support spacing, burial depth, and thermal expansion allowances must comply with the pipe manufacturer specifications and local authority having jurisdiction requirements.
