The REGIN HVAC PRODUCTS, INC. S103 is a smoke emitter pack used to test and verify the operation of duct smoke detectors and air sampling detection systems in HVAC applications. Each pack contains 10 individual smoke emitters with an approximate 90-second output duration per unit. HVAC technicians use these emitters to simulate smoke conditions during commissioning, routine inspection, and troubleshooting of detection equipment without introducing actual combustion products into the duct system. The S103 provides a consistent, controlled smoke output that meets the functional test requirements for most duct-mounted detection accessories.
The S103 smoke emitters are suited for use in commercial and residential HVAC systems during detector functional testing. They are commonly used during pre-occupancy commissioning, annual fire-safety inspections, and after maintenance work that may have disturbed detector components. HVAC technicians and fire-life-safety contractors rely on this type of emitter to confirm that duct smoke detectors are correctly sensing airflow-borne smoke and triggering appropriate system responses before returning a system to service.
Designed as a general-purpose functional test accessory for duct-mounted smoke detectors and air sampling detection systems in commercial and residential HVAC installations.
Smoke emitter testing should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified fire-life-safety contractor following the detector manufacturer's functional test procedure. Before testing, notify building occupants and the monitoring station to prevent false alarm dispatches. Use the emitter in accordance with local fire code requirements and the authority having jurisdiction. Do not use smoke emitters as a substitute for calibrated sensitivity testing where required by code.
