The REFRIGERATION TECHNOLOGIES 3388 is a refrigerant receiver designed for use in commercial and residential refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The receiver stores liquid refrigerant on the high-pressure side of the system between the condenser and the expansion device, allowing the technician to isolate refrigerant during service. Built with hydrogen copper brazing for maximum joint strength and internal cleanliness, the 3388 carries a design pressure rating of 500 PSIG and measures 12 inches in length. It arrives thoroughly dehydrated and pressure tested, ready for installation. Licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians handle this type of component as part of system commissioning or retrofit work.
The 3388 receiver is suited for a wide range of refrigerant types, making it appropriate for both legacy systems running R-22 and modern systems using lower-GWP alternatives such as R-454B and R-448A. It is used in split systems, condensing units, and refrigeration racks where liquid storage capacity and system pump-down capability are required. The black finish indicates thermal characteristics typical of field-installed receivers on commercial equipment.
Rated for use with R-22, R-32, R-134a, R-290, R-404A, R-407C, R-448A, R-454B, R-507, R-507A, and R-513A refrigerants as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation of a refrigerant receiver is performed by an EPA Section 608 certified HVAC or refrigeration technician. Recover all refrigerant from the system before disconnecting any components, and follow all local mechanical codes and ASHRAE 15 safety requirements. Braze connections using nitrogen purge to prevent internal oxidation, and leak-check all joints before recharging the system. Do not exceed the rated design pressure during pressure testing.
