The RECTORSEAL NPE-2 consists of two color-coded, tamper-resistant refrigerant port caps sized for 5/16-inch Euro threads. These caps are precision-machined from high-grade brass and fitted with a protective aluminum shroud and an integral neoprene O-ring. They are designed to resist crushing and unauthorized removal without the correct key tool. The torque-limiter design prevents overtightening during installation. HVAC technicians install these caps on service valves to prevent accidental refrigerant loss, reduce the risk of refrigerant mixing, and support refrigerant containment best practices required under EPA Section 608 regulations.
These caps are intended for use on R-410A HVAC equipment service valves that use 5/16-inch Euro-thread ports. Typical applications include residential and light-commercial split systems and heat pumps where R-410A is the system refrigerant. The color-coded design allows quick visual identification of the refrigerant type at the service valve, which is useful during routine maintenance, seasonal startup, and refrigerant recovery operations.
Designed for R-410A HVAC equipment service valves with 5/16-inch Euro-thread refrigerant ports.
Installation and removal require the manufacturer-specified key tool — standard hand tools will not engage the tamper-resistant design. HVAC technicians should recover or isolate system refrigerant as required before servicing any valve or cap. Follow EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling requirements and applicable local codes during all service valve work. Inspect the O-ring for damage before reinstalling caps after any service visit.
