The RECTORSEAL m62462 is a 3-pole contactor rated for 50 amps at 240 volts, designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Contactors are electromechanical switching devices that control high-voltage loads such as compressors and condenser fan motors from a low-voltage control signal. This unit features box lug terminations and is compatible with A2L refrigerant applications, making it suitable for systems using next-generation low-GWP refrigerants. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component during system commissioning and service calls.
This contactor is intended for use in split-system air conditioners, heat pumps, and packaged units where a 3-pole switching configuration is required. The A2L designation indicates suitability for systems operating with mildly flammable refrigerants such as R-32 or R-454B, which are increasingly common in new equipment. The box lug connection style accommodates standard field wiring and allows for secure, code-compliant terminations in the unit disconnect or contactor cavity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement contactor for 3-pole, 50-amp, 240-volt residential and light commercial HVAC systems requiring A2L refrigerant compatibility and box lug terminations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit before removing or installing the contactor. Verify that the coil voltage matches the control circuit voltage before energizing the system. On A2L refrigerant systems, follow equipment manufacturer guidelines for ignition-source management in the equipment enclosure.
