The RECTORSEAL M12077 is a dual run capacitor rated at 35/3 microfarads (MFD) and 440 volts, designed for use in single-phase residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Dual run capacitors serve two motor circuits simultaneously — typically the compressor and the condenser fan motor — from a single component. This reduces the part count inside the condensing unit and simplifies replacement. Licensed HVAC technicians install this capacitor as a direct service replacement when a system presents with hard-start symptoms, motor failure to run, or measured capacitance outside the rated tolerance window.
The M12077 fits inside standard round capacitor slots in residential split-system air conditioners and heat pump condensing units. The round form factor is the most common configuration found in residential condensing units and accommodates standard capacitor brackets and terminals. It is suited for replacement during routine seasonal maintenance, compressor hard-start diagnosis, or condenser fan motor swap-outs where the original dual run capacitor must also be replaced.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement dual run capacitor for single-phase residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump condensing units requiring a 35/3 MFD, 440-volt round capacitor.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the condensing unit before opening the electrical compartment. Capacitors retain a charge even after power is removed — discharge the existing capacitor through a resistor before handling or removing leads. Follow all local electrical codes and the equipment manufacturer's wiring diagram when reconnecting terminals.
