The RECTORSEAL M12026 is a 2 microfarad (MFD), 440-volt oval run capacitor designed for use in motor and compressor circuits found in HVAC equipment. Run capacitors maintain a continuous phase shift in the start winding of single-phase motors, improving efficiency and helping the motor run smoothly under load. Rated at 440 volts, this unit is suited for installations where line voltage may fluctuate or where a higher-voltage-rated component is preferred for added durability. The compact oval form factor fits standard capacitor brackets found in most residential and light commercial air handlers, condensing units, and fan motor assemblies. Installation is performed by qualified HVAC technicians.
This capacitor is used in single-phase PSC (permanent split capacitor) motor applications, including condenser fan motors and blower motors in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Its 2 MFD rating matches OEM specifications for smaller fractional-horsepower motors commonly found in these systems. The oval case design simplifies installation in tight equipment cabinets where round capacitors may not seat properly in the existing bracket.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement run capacitor for single-phase PSC motors in residential and light commercial HVAC condensing units and air handlers requiring a 2 MFD, 440-volt oval capacitor.
Run capacitors must be installed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit before handling capacitors, and discharge any existing capacitor using an approved resistive discharge tool before removal. Verify that the replacement MFD rating and voltage rating match or exceed the OEM specification on the motor nameplate. Capacitor terminals should be connected securely with no exposed conductors.
