The RECTORSEAL CORPORATION 25551 is a soft-set, slow-drying pipe thread sealant formulated for threaded pipe joints across a wide range of pipe materials. It can be pressurized immediately after application on piping up to 2 inches in diameter at pressures up to 100 psi, making it well suited for time-sensitive service work. The sealant is NSF, UL, and AGA certified, covering potable water, gas, and related piping systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians are the primary installers. Each package contains 0.5 pint of sealant and is sold as an individual unit.
This sealant is designed for use on threaded joints in residential and commercial piping systems. Compatible pipe materials include galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, and fiberglass reinforced PVC pipe. It is commonly applied in gas distribution lines, water supply systems, and hydronic piping where a reliable, code-compliant thread seal is required on pipe diameters up to 2 inches.
Suitable for use on threaded galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, and fiberglass reinforced PVC pipe up to 2 inches in diameter.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) as applicable. Shut off the relevant gas or water supply and relieve system pressure before disassembling any existing joints. Apply sealant evenly to the male threads before making up the joint. Do not over-apply or allow excess sealant to enter the pipe bore, particularly on gas or potable water lines.
