The RECTORSEAL CORPORATION 14010 is a lead-free, oil-based regular paste flux designed for soft soldering applications in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical trades. Sold in a 4 oz jar, this flux cleans and fluxes the joint surface simultaneously, reducing surface tension when heated so that solder flows evenly and completely into the joint. It is formulated for use with 95/5 solder and other common soft solders. The oil-based carrier protects the solder joint against corrosive attack during and after the soldering process, helping produce strong, leak-free connections.
This paste flux is suited for residential and light commercial work where copper and brass fittings are joined using a torch and soft solder. Typical applications include potable water supply lines, drain-waste-vent repairs, refrigerant copper tubing, and HVAC hydronic piping. It is an all-purpose formulation, making it a practical choice for plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians who solder a variety of joint sizes and fitting types in a single service call.
Designed for use with 95/5 and other common soft solders on copper and brass fittings. Suitable as an all-purpose paste flux for standard soft soldering tasks in plumbing and HVAC piping systems.
Apply flux to clean, dry joint surfaces before assembling the fitting and applying heat. Plumbers and HVAC technicians should shut off the water supply or system fluid and relieve pressure before beginning any soldering work. Use in a well-ventilated area and follow applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and local amendments, for soldered joint requirements. Remove excess flux residue from the finished joint after cooling to prevent long-term corrosive attack on the fitting.
