The RECTORSEAL 96452 is a Type 1 Surge Protective Device (SPD) engineered for three-phase 240V delta electrical systems in commercial HVAC applications. It defends connected equipment against transient voltage surges, improves power quality, and reduces electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference (EMI/RFI) on the line. The unit is housed in a NEMA 4X weatherproof enclosure, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. Gas discharge tube (GDT) technology provides reliable suppression without requiring scheduled maintenance. A built-in status indicator gives a clear visual confirmation of active protection status at a glance.
This SPD is designed for commercial HVAC installations where three-phase 240V delta power distribution is used. Typical applications include rooftop package units, chillers, and other commercial mechanical equipment connected to delta-configured service panels. It is installed at or near the electrical service entrance or equipment disconnect to intercept surges before they reach sensitive controls, variable frequency drives, and compressor electronics. Licensed electricians handle installation as part of commissioning or equipment protection upgrades.
Designed as an OEM-style surge protection solution for commercial three-phase 240V delta electrical systems, including HVAC equipment and other commercial mechanical loads connected to delta service configurations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) Article 285 governing surge protective devices. De-energize the panel and verify absence of voltage before making any connections. Mount the enclosure in a location that allows visual access to the status indicator during routine inspections. Do not install on systems with voltage configurations other than three-phase 240V delta.
