The RECTORSEAL 905-14x8 is a horizontal fixed-blade return air grille designed for surface-mount installation in residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems. Constructed from extruded T6 aluminum at 0.055 inch wall thickness, the grille features 45 fixed blades oriented parallel to the longest dimension, providing consistent, uniform airflow across the face of the opening. Countersunk mounting holes and color-matching Phillips posi-drive screws deliver a flush, finished appearance on walls or ceilings. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors install this grille as a standard return air termination point in forced-air systems.
The 905-14x8 suits residential and light commercial forced-air return air applications. It is intended for surface-mount installation over a 14 by 8 inch duct opening. The fixed-blade design keeps installation simple and reduces moving parts. Optional configurations available within the 905 series include a recessed opposed-blade damper, T-bar mount, reinforced construction, and insect screen. A stainless steel version is also available in the 1335-1338 series for corrosive or high-humidity environments. Fractional, inner-dimension, and outside-dimension sizing options are available for custom fit requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style surface-mount return air grille for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 14 by 8 inch horizontal fixed-blade return grille.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician or sheet metal contractor. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before removing or replacing any grille. Verify the duct rough opening dimensions match the grille neck size before fastening. Use the provided countersunk posi-drive screws to secure the grille flush to the wall or ceiling surface, ensuring no gaps that could cause air bypass.
