The RECTORSEAL 2003cd-r6 is a 24-gauge steel, two-cone step-down supply air diffuser built for T-bar suspended ceiling grids. It delivers conditioned supply air in commercial and light-commercial HVAC applications where a flush, seismically stable ceiling install is required. The diffuser ships with an R-6 insulated steel back panel that limits condensation and heat gain on the back side of the unit. The white powder-coat finish blends with standard drop-ceiling systems. No collar and no damper are included, so airflow control must be handled upstream. A seismic support tab is built into the frame for code-required ceiling restraint in applicable jurisdictions.
This diffuser is intended for T-bar ceiling installations in commercial offices, retail spaces, schools, and similar light-commercial environments where a step-down face profile is specified. The 24-inch by 24-inch face plate fits a standard 2-foot by 2-foot T-bar grid module. Supply air is distributed through two cone deflectors for a wide, low-velocity throw pattern. HVAC contractors and sheet metal mechanics install this unit as part of a ducted forced-air supply system. The R-6 insulated back makes it suitable for plenum-sourced supply applications where thermal performance at the diffuser is a design requirement.
Designed for installation in standard 2-foot by 2-foot T-bar suspended ceiling grid systems as an OEM-style supply air diffuser in ducted forced-air HVAC systems.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC contractors or sheet metal mechanics. The supply air system must be shut down and de-energized before installing or repositioning ceiling diffusers. Seismic restraint requirements vary by jurisdiction — verify local codes before finalizing the ceiling attachment method. Because no damper is included, balancing must be accomplished through duct design or an upstream volume control device.
